Porous sintered metal powder materials are manufactured via cold isostatic pressing (CIP) or powder rolling followed by sintering. Their porosity ranges from 30% to 50% with a wall thickness of 1.0–10 mm. The material delivers excellent permeability, uniform density and pore distribution, high temperature resistance, superior corrosion resistance and good regenerability. Complex-shaped components can be produced with a wide selection of alloys, including 316L, FeAl and high-temperature alloys.

For porous stainless steel, pore size and porosity are mainly governed by powder particle size distribution, forming process, sintering temperature and holding time. Conventional porous stainless steel features a controllable pore size of 1–100 μm and porosity between 18% and 46%.
Custom seamless integral lengths from 150 mm to 2000 mm are available.
