Automatic Self-cleaning Filter

Automatic Backwash FilterThe automatic backwash filter consists of housing, filter cartridge assembly, backwash rotating arm, transmission shaft, motor reducer, position limit switch, control cabinet, electric/pneumatic valves, differential pressure controller and other components.The medium to be filtered flows from inside to outside through the wedge wire filter cartridges, and solid particles are trapped on the inner surface of cartridges. As contaminants accumulate, the differential pressure between the dirty side and clean side of the filter rises. Automatic backwashing will be triggered once the differential pressure reaches the preset value (or it can be controlled by time cycles).During backwashing, the motor rotates the backwash arm to the cartridge to be cleaned, cutting off raw liquid flow to this cartridge. The backwash valve opens, and the pressure difference between the filtrate side and backwash pipeline reverses a portion of clean filtrate into the target cartridge. Contaminant particles accumulated on the cartridge inner wall are stripped and flushed through the rotating arm into the backwash pipeline. Once the backwash duration for one cartridge expires, the backwash valve closes immediately. YXFC Multi-Cartridge Automatic Backwash FilterBrief IntroductionThe YXFC multi-cartridge automatic backwash filter can filter raw water and automatically clean and drain filter cartridges without interrupting the water supply system during cleaning. Compared with conventional filters, it features high automation, large treatment capacity, self-cleaning & self-draining function, uninterrupted water supply and wide applicability.Working PrincipleFiltration ProcessLiquid flows into the equipment inlet and passes from the inner side to outer side of cartridges, with solid impurities trapped on the smooth inner surface of cartridges. As contaminants accumulate, the differential pressure between the inner and outer walls of cartridges rises. Once the preset differential pressure is reached, the differential pressure switch sends a signal to activate the backwash sequence. Alternatively, the controller triggers backwashing automatically when the continuous running time hits the preset value on the built-in timer.Automatic Backwashing ProcessOnce the preset differential pressure or running time is reached, the backwash signal is transmitted and the pneumatic blowdown valve opens. The filter’s reduction motor rotates the central transmission shaft to drive the rotary backwash arm. When the arm aligns with the bottom of one cartridge, the inner cavity of this cartridge connects to the blowdown pipeline, cutting off the raw liquid inlet and linking the cartridge interior to the low-pressure blowdown zone. A backwash differential pressure forms between the cartridge’s outer clean side and inner dirty side, driving clean filtrate to reverse-flow from outside to inside the cartridge and flush contaminants attached to the inner wall into the blowdown pipeline. The backwash duration for each cartridge is generally 1.5 seconds. The rotary arm sequentially cleans every cartridge as it rotates. After one full rotation back to the home position, one complete backwash cycle finishes.
